Multimedia Journalism Training Conference Oct. 1 & 2

The LearningLab, Renaissance Journalism Center's multimedia training conference for the ethnic and community news media and nonprofits, will be held Friday and Saturday, October 1-2 at San Francisco State University’s College of Extended Learning, 835 Market Street, San Francisco.

Social Media Producers Wanted

The Renaissance Journalism Center in partnership with the New Media Lab & Incubator has an immediate need for up to five media producers. The producers will work with New Media Lab & Incubator staff and researchers on an experimental, national project that supports the development and design of new uses of mobile and online technologies for nonprofit organizations. The New Media Lab & Incubator convenes researchers and practitioners of new media and digital technology to re-imagine content production, revenue generation, and sustainable management.

SPJ Convention Aug. 27-30, 2009

The 2009 SPJ Convention will be held in Indianapolis, IN. The three-day program includes sessions on community journalism and new media. Half-day training workshops in basic web video and blogging are also available.

Ethnic Media Watchdog Workshops 2009-2010

IRE’s ethnic media workshops help journalists sharpen their investigative reporting skills.  Workshop facilitators show participants how to find documents, databases, and other resources. Workshops are offered throughout the year in different U.S. cities. The next workshop will be held Sept. 12-13, 2009 in Boston, MA.
